Food tech automation with the HSL linear gantry

Our HSL linear gantry is used in an automated food tech plant for the production and packaging of personalised muesli mixes. The plant combines recipe-based dosing of various ingredients with a fully automated transfer to mixing and packaging units.

The HSL linear gantries we supply are bespoke systems tailored to the customer’s requirements and consist of a combination of axes: a belt-driven linear table (HT-B) in the X-direction and a belt-driven cantilever axis (HC-B) in the Z-direction. The HSL system handles key positioning and handling tasks within the plant’s dosing process. The X-axis ensures the precise positioning of the Z-axis above the respective ingredient and dosing stations, as well as above the designated transfer points, such as mixing or container stations. The Z-axis handles the precise movement of the respective dosing modules in accordance with the recipe, as well as the automated transfer to downstream process steps such as mixing or packaging. The customised system has been fitted with a bespoke energy chain solution and an optimised stroke length to reduce the installation space required. Integration takes place in clearly demarcated machine areas that are structurally separated from the food-contact process chamber.

We supply high-precision motion units with maximum customisability that can be flexibly adapted to different plant layouts – ideal for diverse food tech production processes involving frequent recipe changes.
